As a visiting lecturer in Interface Design at Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) Munich, Germany, Franziska Tachtler wants to share her fascination for new possible forms of interfaces, but make her students aware of their responsibility as designers and developers of future technologies. In 2016, she completed her Master of Science in Interaction Design at Malmö University, Sweden. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and Multimedia with a Minor in Media Informatics (LMU Munich). Her Master thesis examined the invisible processes of predicting citizens’ preferences based on geo-tagged data in smart cities. The thesis project strengthened her ability to consider the social, political, and ethical issues of collecting and interpreting data and designing technological artifacts.

In 2016, she organized the 12th Student Interaction Design Research conference at Malmö University that focused on the ever-evolving relationship between Human and Nature. She presented her work at several conferences and exhibitions in Brazil, United States, Germany, Sweden, Austria and Denmark. From May 2017 on, she will be employed as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN Early Stage Researcher PhD student at TU Wien exploring the design of technology for promoting resilience for unaccompanied migrant youth and technology-enabled mental health and well-being.
