Since he was 18 years old, Robert Boehme has been an systems administrator and consultant in information security and storage management, with clients generally in the Federal German government.  In mid-2009 he and six partners founded the German Part-Time Scientists team to participate in a competition. The teams’s goal was and is to conduct the first private missions to the moon.  The team was able to demonstrate spaceworthy technology, formed a technology partnerships with the AUDI AG and Vodafone and unveiled their ALINA moon lander. Their reserved rocket ride will bring them to the moon in 2018.

As team founder, Robert Boehme is also the CEO of the company behind the effort, the PTScientists GmbH, which aims to develop novel technologies to provide small and mid-size businesses simple and cost-effective access to space.
