Set Designer and Producer

Oliver Proske is a set designer, industrial designer, producer and managing director.

He studied industrial design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg in the class of Dieter Rams and at the University of Arts in Berlin. Together with Nicola Hümpel he founded the theatre group Nico and the Navigators at the Bauhaus Dessau 1989. One year later the company moved to Berlin. Since then he has designed all 21 stages as well as managing the company and being in charge as technical director for over 200 guest plays in more than 50 cities worldwide. Moreover he works as a freelance set- and exhibition designer, also giving workshops. In 2011 Oliver Proske and Nicola Hümpel were awarded with the George Tabori Prize, Germany’s principal award for independent theatre companies. Recent projects were among others: „The hour we knew too much of each other" at Radialsystem (2015), „Reigen“ at the Opera Stuttgart (2016) and „SILENT SONGS in the wild" at the Bozar in Brussels (2017).
