Sam Wolson

Sam Wolson (USA,1989) is a photographer, filmmaker and VR producer. He is a member of Agency VU'. His work focuses on issues around public space and marginalized communities in the global south and across the United States. In addition to assignments for editorial and corporate clients, such as The New York Times and Apple, Wolson pursues long-term independent projects. His most recent project We Who Remain was premiered at the South By Southwest festival in Austin Texas in 2017. The film is a 15-minute immersive VR documentary that weaves together the lives of four people – a student, a rebel soldier, a journalist, and a mother living in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. It is the first character-driven immersive documentary shot in an active conflict zone. The film is a co-production between Nuba Reports, an innovative media organization in Sudan, Emblematic Group, one of the world’s leading producers of immersive VR content, The New York Times, AJ+ and ARTE. Wolson is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
