Christian Heise is the Operations Manager of the Google Digital News Initiative Innovation Fund in Europe, working on stimulating innovation in the digital news ecosystem and demonstrating new thinking in the practice of digital journalism. He is also Chairman of the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany, graduated from the Centre for Digital Cultures at the Leuphana Universität Lüneburg and submitted his doctoral thesis on the topic ‘open science’ in June 2016. He has worked in the news industry since 2005.
