Short thesis:

Workshop for the assembly of a robotic arm and associated controller. In this workshop the participants will learn the basics of mechanical assembly, electronics, programming, and the interrelation between them for the consecution of a final device. During the wokshop the concepts of team work, communication and task division for the accomplishment of the goal will be transmitted.

Description:

The workshop will consist in the assembly of a robotic arm, and a controller for it. During the workshop several tasks in different fields will be performed:

  • Mechanical assembly.
  • Basic electronics.
  • Basic programming.
  • Team work.

For the mechanical assembly part, the main goal for the participants is to correctly interpret the assembly of the mechanical arm and the controller, and being able to divide their tasks in order to reach their goal. The basic electronics will make the participants familiar with some of the electronics and soldering equipment. For the programming part, a basic introduction to the Arduino IDE will be given. Once the robotic arm and the controller are assembled, there will be a test of the system, and a small game as a demonstration of use of the robotic arm.

The number of participants for the workshop is limited to 15. There is a sign up sheet available at the Makerspace - first come first serve.
