Rebeca is a Brazilian architect who is enrolled in the double-degree Master program Open Design, that is organized by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She's a maker in Olabi Makerspace where she works with a focus on 3D printing and with them co-created the course Sewing High-Tech, experiencing the relationship between high-tech techniques like 3D printing and programming with low-tech techniques such as embroidery, crochet and sewing. The space, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has a biolab, where a group of enthusiasts are working with biofabric and exploring the potential of biotextil. She is a researcher in the Lamo3D lab at the School of Architecture in Rio de Janeiro, researching on digital fabrication and parametric design and has been a researcher in the robotics lab NANO, developing projects of interactive structures. Her project FlatPackStudio addresses the issue of portable and nomadic architecture, through the development of a foldable and parametric building system.
