Short thesis:

Healthcare delivery in today’s pluralistic societies call for adjusted efforts in all dimensions of health. The World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2017 in Montreal will therefore focus on the question of human diversity in the practice, education, research, and field of public policy as it pertains to global and public health. The live stream will feature Prof. Lise Gauvin, Vice-Dean for Research at the School of Public Health, University of Montreal, and World Health Summit President Prof. Detlev Ganten for a 30 minute Q&A on this matter.

Description:

In pluralistic societies that welcome diversity many factors will impact health and the provision of healthcare, e.g. globalization, immigration, social and economic inequalities, lifestyle, and culture. The central subject of the World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2017 in Montreal will therefore be "Health and Healthcare Delivery in Pluralistic Societies". It provides the opportunity to create a unique forum for interdisciplinary discussion and to emphasize human diversity in the practice, education, research, and field of public policy as it pertains to global and public health.

The event is a tremendous scientific and political platform for the discussion of current issues such as immigrant and First Nations health, the appearance of new treatment-resistant viruses, the quality of life and safety of patients, health in large urban environments, and the evolution of healthcare and medical education.

The World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2017 is one of the most important events of its kind in Canada. It will bring together internationally leading experts including three Canadian government ministers and about 700 participants from all over the world.

Prof. Lise Gauvin, Vice-Dean for Research at the School of Public Health, University of Montreal, and World Health Summit President Prof. Detlev Ganten will introduce the topic and scope of "Health and Healthcare Delivery in Pluralistic Societies" and field your questions which can be contributed via Twitter during the live stream.
