Closing the gender gap in the tech world, has been at the forefront of the agenda for quite some time now. The unequal representation of women in the tech industry is unfortunately still a reality. For that purpose, the Vodafone Institute for Society and Communications recently launched a comprehensive programme that facilitates women’s engagement in tech entrepreneurship. With F-LANE, the first accelerator for social tech startups for and by women, the aim is to foster women’s involvement in digital businesses.

Together with female entrepreneurs we aim to address the obstacles and challenges of women in the digital labour market and showcase at the same time successful stories of women as tech founders and in the digital industry. In an interactive talk we will focus on questions such as “What are the challenges women face in the tech sector?”, “What structural changes are necessary to promote women as entrepreneurs?” or “What are the best practice cases in Europe?” in order to shine some light on the various opportunities women have in Europe.
