Marvin Kren hat sich international mit den beiden Horrorfilmen „Rammbock“ (2010) und „Blutgletscher“ (2013) einen Namen gemacht. „Rammbock“ wurde unter anderem mit dem Publikumspreis beim Max-Ophüls-Preis und dem Wiener Filmpreis der Viennale ausgezeichnet. „Blutgletscher“ wurde 2013 auf dem internationalen Toronto Film Festival uraufgeführt und gewann im selben Jahr drei österreichische Filmpreise. Auch Krens Kurzfilme wurden mit verschiedenen Preisen geehrt, darunter „Schautag“ (2009, u.a. Max-Ophüls-Preis, Deutscher Kamerapreis und Diagonale Kurzfilmpreis). 2013 entstand die Tatort-Episode „Kaltstart“ mit Wotan Wilke Möhring unter Krens Regie, zwei weitere Folgen drehte er 2014. Ende 2015 folgte der Fernsehfilm „Mordkommission Berlin 1“, für den er mit der Romy als bester Regisseur ausgezeichnet wurde. In Vorbereitung ist die Serie „Freud“.

Marvin Kren has made an international name for himself with the two horror movies “Rammbock” (2010) and “Blutgletscher” (2013). “Rammbock” has received the viewer’s choice award of the Max-Ophüls Award as well as the Vienna Film Award at the Viennale, amongst others. “Blutgletscher” was initially screened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and won three Austrian film awards the same year. Kren’s short films have also received several awards, for example “Schautag” (2009, amongst others with the Max-Ophüls Award, the German Camera Award and the Diagonale Short Film Award). In 2013, the Tatort episode “Kaltstart” (“Cold Start”) featuring Wotan Wilke was created with Kren directing; he went on to shoot two more episodes in 2014. In late 2015, they were followed by the television movie “Mordkommission Berlin 1”, for which he was awarded the Romy for best director. Currently, he is preparing the series “Freud”.
